This still-active tram depot was built in 1915. Not much of the original depot remains visible today. Over the years, it expanded into a modern maintenance depot for all the city's trams and buses. The size of the depot is evident not only from the surface area it occupies. It was also a key player in the development of high-voltage power lines. The site has the capacity to produce its own electricity (2,400 kW) to reinforce the grid's power supply.
Several decommissioned trams stand on a siding of the depot. They are likely being preserved for potential parts and spare parts for the trams in the museum connected to the site. The old trams standing here were originally not newly built trams, but converted S-trams. The conversion program started in 1978. It was halted in 1988, when most tram lines around the city were discontinued. Shortly thereafter, these trams were completely taken out of passenger service.
