The beautiful modernist Villa Steen, also known locally as the "yellow villa," was built in 1940 by a family of stonemasons. The stonemasonry was operated in the house next door and on the grounds behind it. Villa Steen seems like a calling card for the stonemasonry. From the moment you set foot into the entrance hall, you are overwhelmed by the unmistakable presence of marble: marble floors, wainscoting, and staircases. The luxury is further emphasized by the ubiquitous stained-glass windows. At the end of May 2016, the property, consisting of the two houses and the grounds behind it, went on public auction.
