This old cloth factory, founded in 1775, primarily supplied cloth to the French army. In 1878, the factory employed 888 workers, including 494 women. During the First World War, the factory was completely destroyed. In 1920, the ruins were purchased by an industrial family from Roubaix, who operated the factory until the Second World War.
