Behind the depot of a railway enthusiasts' association, in a wooded area, stands this collection of railway equipment awaiting restoration. The wagons displayed here are primarily meter-gauge wagons (a form of narrow gauge), primarily used in industrial applications. The "Train de Déconfinement," or evacuation train (main image), for example, originates from the Kempen coalfield, likely from the Beringen coal mine. Such a wagon was used to evacuate sick or injured miners from the mine and was equipped as a kind of first aid station, where first aid could be administered to the sick or injured on their way to the surface. There are also a whole series of mine wagons, originating from various mining sites, and a tourist carriage, originating from the Averbode park.
