This cemetery is known for its many nineteenth-century graves. It was laid out during a cholera epidemic in the second half of the 19th century and remained in use for nearly a hundred years. The churchyard is situated on the northern flank of a valley in a wooded area. Due to a lack of maintenance, nature was allowed to take its course here. This led to rich fauna and flora, combined with significant funerary heritage. The churchyard offers a fairly comprehensive overview of all major trends in funerary art in these regions from the end of the 19th century up to the Second World War.
