Kinkempois Station is a shunting and training station located in the Kinkempois district, south of Liège. The first station building was constructed there in 1883. It was demolished in 1960 and replaced by another building, which was subsequently also demolished in the late 2000s.
It is primarily a large marshalling yard (38 distribution tracks, with rail brakes) with a traction workshop and sheds. The points and signals were operated manually from two signal boxes. Originally, there was also a passenger station, but passenger service ceased on June 3, 1984. A small railway museum was also located on the site, but it closed its doors as early as 2017.
In April 2018, the NMBS (Belgium's national railway company) inaugurated a new workshop of more than 17,000 m² on the opposite side of the site, designed to better accommodate the increase in the number of trains in circulation. At the same time, the current marshalling yard was taken out of service.
