Since 1951, the Belgian Air Force's control and reporting center has been operating here. The site was specifically chosen for its altitude and favorable strategic location. Originally, the radar installation was housed in tents. Later, an underground bunker was built, which opened in 1955. The center and its radar installation were intended to ensure the integrity of Belgian-Luxembourg airspace.
The center moved to another location in 2020, but the military domain remained active until mid-2022. A refugee reception center has since been established in the above-ground barracks. The three-story underground bunker was completely emptied and was therefore uninteresting from a photographic perspective. The radar dome, on the other hand, yielded some interesting shots.
