'Police Academy' was a department of the Sacred Heart College in Heist-op-den-Berg. The 1.44-hectare site is situated on the highest point of the municipality, behind the convent of the Annonciades Sisters, who founded the school in 1919. The school complex was established there in the 1940s. It was sold to a property developer, who paid 4.7 million euros for it. He will build 85 new apartments there.

The highschool obviously had nothing to do with a police academy. It was given that name solely because of its location behind the offices of the local police department. That probably also explains why there was relatively little vandalism, apart from a lot of broken windows.
