Death has been a subject on this website several times before. That might seem a bit morbid, but for me personally, visiting cemeteries and admiring funerary heritage is strangely peaceful. In this cemetery, I came across a beautiful Art Deco mortuary. It's not a large building, but it's still remarkably large for a cemetery of this size. Every cemetery used to have such a mortuary, but as funeral homes became increasingly larger and more elaborate, increasingly owning their own mortuaries, these municipal mortuaries fell into disuse. This beautiful example, too, has clearly been out of use for many years. The cemetery is currently undergoing renovations, and hopefully, this beautiful piece of funerary heritage will be preserved and restored...
