This former weaving mill, founded in 1882, was taken over several times throughout its history. For nearly 90 years, it remained a mechanical weaving mill. Due to the rise of newer techniques, the company was forced to close its doors in 1970. From 1970 to 1997, a furniture store operated here.
Since 1997, the industrial buildings have been vacant. Although the industrial site was designated as architectural heritage, actual protection never materialized. Consequently, it was recently decided to transform the buildings into a new residential project. At the time of our visit, the demolition and renovation works were already underway...
In urbex circles, the location is known by several names: Pete's Shop, Pete's Factory, Usine Petite Echelle, and Factory 2601 (2601 being the combination to the padlock to open the gate). Due to the distinctive graffiti artworks by Pete One, who himself is a resident of this area, the name Pete's Factory is used most frequently.
