The "White Lily" retirement home dates back to the 1970s. In the early 2000s, however, it ran into financial difficulties. Debts piled up until it was eventually declared bankrupt in 2002. The trustee made several attempts to find a buyer, but his efforts were unsuccessful. Forty-one elderly residents were forced to look for alternative housing.
