This former convent of the Sisters of Charity of Jesus and Mary was founded in 1815. Large parts of it have since been demolished to make way for new buildings. The convent complex originally comprised the convent itself, a semi-public chapel, a retirement home, a kindergarten, a primary school, a secondary school, and a public library. The secondary school was transferred to another building, and the convent and retirement home have since moved to the residential and care facility built in the early 1980s.

In the late 1980s, a new convent was built at that new retirement home for the remaining sisters. In this series, you can see the school building complex situated on the street. The oldest part consists of the primary school, founded in the mid-1860s. The former school building adjoining on the left, later a public library, dates from around 1880. Finally, in the early 1920s, the former rural domestic science school was added, which would later become the boys' primary school.
