The first watermill on this site was built at the beginning of the 15th century. At the beginning of the 18th century, the entire mill was thoroughly renovated. It was around that time that Rombout came to learn the miller's trade and managed to hook the miller's daughter. He was thus the founder of the dynasty that has owned the mill from the beginning of the 18th century to the present day.
The last miller (born in 1926), who still owns the mill today, operated the watermill for a few years but then established an industrial mill on the other side of the watercourse. The watermill was decommissioned shortly after the Second World War, after which operations were carried out exclusively in the new industrial mill. The old watermill was preserved completely intact and was designated a monument and village landmark in the early 1990s.
