Read moreIn the small town Zoutleeuw, in the province of Flemish Brabant, you'll find Flanders' largest natural inland lake. This nature reserve and provincial domain is easily accessible thanks to its hiking trails, boardwalks, observation towers, and bird hides. It's also an ideal environment for nature photographers.
I visited the domain on a late summer afternoon and evening. The prevailing drought gave the lake a sort of post-apocalyptic look and feel. The setting sun later that evening, however, gave it a magical glow. It's an environment where you can wander around for hours with your camera, never being bored for a second.
More information about the domain can be found on the Natuurpunt website .
