Visiting private homes is my least favorite urban exploring activity. It always feels a bit like intruding on someone's privacy. If I do visit a home, I try to capture the decay and not focus on the private belongings that are still there.
I visited this house as part of the first group meeting of the Urbex Nation Facebook group (then called Scenes of Decay). To organize this meeting, I approached several people I knew owned vacant properties. Sven, the owner of this house, is a creative all-rounder himself and also used to be a photographer. He was immediately enthusiastic when I asked him the question.
There's not much to say about the house itself. The building was built by Sven's grandfather in 1952. Although the modernist style was already quite common at the time, this building was still constructed with the characteristic Art Deco features that were very popular before World War II. Among other things, we recognize the angled gable and the stained-glass ornaments.
The house has since been demolished to make way for new apartments.
