The former residents of these two houses, situated one behind the other, were clearly very well-read. The house at the back, in particular, boasted a nearly complete library. In both houses, we also found some beautiful pieces of antique furniture and several classical paintings. The most striking feature—and also the main reason I, as a car enthusiast, wanted to go there—was the magnificent Peugeot 201C Berline in the garage.
The Peugeot 201 (the first one whose name consisted of three numbers, with a zero in the middle) came in many versions. I previously visited a Peugeot 201 Torpédo, rusting away in a forest somewhere. Here we see the Peugeot 201C Berline, launched by Peugeot in September 1930 and produced until December 1931. The little car is still almost completely intact and in remarkably good condition. With a little love and proper care, it could easily be restored to its former glory. Let's hope it gets a wonderful second life!
