Read moreThis region is known for its abundance of calcareous rock, which contains, among other things, dolomite or bitterspar, a mineral that finds industrial application in the production of cement, among other things.
This factory, with its tangle of conveyor belts (convoyeurs), is in fact a crushing plant, where the excavated rock is stripped of impurities. The site is part of a larger company that is still active. Little or no information can be found regarding the origins and history of this plant.
Due to a decline in demand for dolomite, activity here was halted a few years ago and moved to other company sites, which have access to larger and more modern facilities.
