Judging by the state of this hospital, it is hard to believe that it has been standing empty for less than a year and a half. In some places, it looks as if a bomb has exploded... Perhaps that is indeed the case, as the buildings are clearly being used for police and/or fire department drills.
The hospital dates back to the late 1930s. For the next seventy years, it was a private hospital. Under pressure from competition from other hospitals in the city, it merged with three other hospitals shortly after the turn of the century. In 2010, all specialties were brought together in the new buildings of the merged hospital. In the spring of 2017, the last departments and nursing units also moved, after which the old hospital closed its doors. Due to the extensive damage, there is not much of interest left to see...
