This riding school had also been vacant for several years in the mid-2000s. After a long search, a buyer/investor was found who renovated the buildings and breathed new life into the riding school. Since the municipal council owns the school, the property was leased to a Dutch couple who had already made their mark in equestrian sports. In 2009, the horse farm was relaunched, and everything seemed to be going well. They ran the business themselves for eight years but then transferred the operation to a tenant.
For the next two years, the riding school was operated by these tenants, who also invested in improving the premises. The municipal council deemed it 'insufficient', and filed a lawsuit against the concessionaires to terminate the concession. A petition with over 2,000 signatures was unsuccessful. In 2019, the stables were permanently closed. Since then, the riding school has stood empty, and its condition has visibly deteriorated. A clear case of regulatory incompetence, in which the local government shot itself in the foot.
