The building, once so important to this small community, is in a truly lamentable state. It was not without reason that it was declared inaccessible by the fire department.
You get the feeling there that you could get hit on the head by random debris at any given moment. Rumors of demolition have been circulating since 2010, yet in mid-2018 it is still standing. The church was built in the Romanesque style in 1921 for the ever-increasing mining population, primarily from Flanders.
