This French hamlet was originally part of the domain of the Dukes of Normandy. They built a castle here to protect the valley. No traces of that fortified stronghold remain.
The current castle dates from the end of the 15th century. The castle underwent numerous modifications in the 17th century. Surrounded by a moat, the building features two towers, connected by a main building and two wings adorned with a projecting watchtower. The two large towers at the main entrance, the projecting turrets, are elements of a structure dating from the late ogive era.
The original owners had this house built after the Hundred Years' War. In 1760, they sold the estate. In the mid-20th century, the property became the property of the descendants of a wealthy industrialist who made his fortune in the sugar industry.
