Chapelle de Bresillac is the chapel of a college, built in 1887. It was erected on the site of the original sanctuary, where, according to tradition, a spring miraculously gush forth in August 470. Legend says that Saint Genevieve and her companion Celine sought rest here during their journey. The spring is said to have sprung up spontaneously to quench their thirst.
In 1177, a priory of canons of Saint Augustine was founded around the spring. In 1637, it was taken over by the Oratorians, who in turn founded the college there. The 19th-century chapel has an elongated plan, terminated by a polygonal choir.
The breathtaking stained-glass windows, in particular, which depict the adventures of Saint Genevieve and Saint Celine, among others, immediately catch the eye. The chapel itself is located on the second level of the building. When the college closed its doors in 2012, the chapel naturally fell into disuse as well.
