A previous visit to this impressive coal company took place over five years ago and focused exclusively on the company's coal washing facility. Photos from that visit can be found in the Black Gold album.

The site has much more to offer, including the washrooms where the miners could change and shower (or bathe, if they were higher up the hierarchy) and a beautifully preserved winding building, which operated the elevators that hoisted the miners in and out of the mine shaft. Brown Boveri 's beautiful winding engines have been preserved in excellent condition and are a true feast for the eyes.
