Finding information about this beautiful banquet hall/theater is no easy task. For example, the exact date of the building is unclear. In 1948, after a ball, it was hit by a fire, leaving only the exterior walls standing. The banquet hall was completely restored and modernized in 1952. This perhaps explains the Art Deco elements, which were very common at the time. During the restoration, the bar/dining area attached to the rear was enlarged, and the side balconies in the hall were removed.
In 2016, after fragments of the facade fell, the decision was made to permanently close the venue. On January 1, 2017, the doors closed for good. Safety measures were implemented to prevent further damage, but overall, the building continued to deteriorate steadily. At one point, the entire building was even considered for demolition, but thankfully, that option was reconsidered. It was decided that the building would undergo a thorough renovation, and it remains to be seen when work will begin.
